About Us - Accreditation for Training

AAAC assists clients in choosing a training/retraining/upgrading program and obtaining Advanced Standing whenever possible.

When looking for additional training, retraining or updating your knowledge or skills, you should be able to make informed accreditation choices.

Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR)

In Canada you can get accreditation for your previous studies using PLAR (Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition).

PLAR is a process that may help you to demonstrate and receive recognition for previously obtained learning. Before choosing a training program you should check that program to see if you can apply for Advanced Standing or Course Exemptions to obtain Advanced Credits.

The training program body will assess your credentials before deciding whether to grant you the Advanced Standing. Most programs have their own assessment procedures. Some programs may require a preliminary assessment be done by Assessment Services.

The above type of accreditation is done for training purposes only and is called Course Challenge.

Looking for the Most Suitable Training

It is not easy to find the course(s) or program(s) best suited for your professional needs. You should do thorough research to make good choices for training.

You can do this research independently and/or with professional help. For more information, visit Training. If more help is needed, the AAAC will be glad to assist you.
