About Us - Accreditation for Licensing
AAAC advises its clients on all aspects of the Licensing/Certification/Registration procedures pertinent to them.
Some of AAAC''s clients will elect not to start the Licensing/Certification/Registration process; AAAC is available to discuss other Alternative Career Opportunities with lesser or no licensing.
AAAC staff is available to discuss and develop Accreditation Action Plan(s) for those who need employment while completing the licensing process.
What are the steps to obtain licensing/certification/registration?
You must pursue Accreditation for Licensing/Certification/Registration if your profession is regulated and you choose to pursue it.
For a complete list of regulated professions in Ontario, visit Work Destinations or Paths to Equal Opportunity of Ontario.
You can pursue Accreditation for Licensing/Certification/Registration if your profession is non-regulated, and there is a professional body with voluntary membership for your occupation.
Such professional bodies may provide registration and courses, which can be an excellent opportunity for you to update your professional knowledge or to align this knowledge with Canadian standards.
How long will it take to obtain licensing/certification/registration?
The process of licensing can be quite challenging and may take anywhere from a few months to several years. To succeed in the licensing process, you must:
- Look for the best and most up-to-date information regarding the licensing/certification/registration processes
- Have a complete understanding of the academic qualifications and work experience assessment practices of the regulatory body.
- Develop an Action Plan on how to prepare for the professional examination(s) or take some training or upgrading course(s).
